Rio Negro Gnatcatcher

Rio Negro Gnatcatcher, Polioptila facilis, is a bird of the gnatcatcher family that breeds in north-west Amazonian Brazil. It is confined to Brazil and occurs in the Rio Negro region of northern Amazonas, where much of its range follows that blackwater tributary of the Amazon. It lives along the edges and in the canopy of humid primary forest, mostly below 500 m. It was once treated as part of the Guianan Gnatcatcher, but is now recognised separately on the basis of differences in form and voice.
