River Tyrannulet, Serpophaga hypoleuca, is a passerine of the Tyrannidae family found in South America along the Orinoco, Amazon and their tributaries. It lives in low, open scrub on river islands and along river margins, and also in scrubby and thorny growth beside waterways in the Llanos of eastern Colombia and western Venezuela. It is a small riverine flycatcher with a dark crown, pale face and white underparts, and the sexes look alike. The species was described by Sclater and Salvin in 1866.
