River Warbler, Locustella fluviatilis, is a passerine of the Locustellidae family that breeds in central and eastern Europe and in eastern Africa, and spends the non-breeding season in south-eastern Africa. It is a bird of dense deciduous growth near water, especially in bogs and by rivers. The species is hard to spot because it keeps low in cover. Its plumage is unstreaked grey-brown above with whitish grey below, and the darker undertail shows white tips that create a marked pattern. Young birds are yellower underneath.
