Rivoli's Hummingbird, Eugenes fulgens, breeds in mountain country from the south-western United States through Middle America to Honduras and Nicaragua. It is a hummingbird of pine-oak forest and cloudforest, using interior woodland, forest margins, clearings, secondary growth and some grassland, and it also visits bird feeders. The species is one of the largest hummingbirds found in the United States. It has a long, straight to slightly curved black bill, and the adult male shows a violet crown and a bright blue-green throat patch.
