Rock Tapaculo, Scytalopus petrophilus, is a passerine in the Rhinocryptidae family that breeds in south-eastern Brazil. It was described by Whitney, de Vasconcelos, Silveira & Pacheco in 2010. It is linked to rocky country in the Espinhaço and Mantiqueira mountains of Minas Gerais, and may also be present in nearby Rio de Janeiro and São Paulo. Its breeding habitat includes scrubby and grassy areas, as well as elfin and cloud forest. It is very similar in appearance and voice to the Diamantina Tapaculo and Planalto Tapaculo.
