Rook

Corvus frugilegus

The Rook (Corvus frugilegus) is a medium-sized member of the crow family, known for its distinctive bare, pale face and peaked crown. These highly social birds are often found in large, noisy colonies, known as rookeries, where they build their nests in tall trees. Rooks are omnivorous, feeding on a variety of foods including insects, small mammals, seeds, and agricultural crops. They are known for their intelligence and problem-solving abilities, often using tools to extract food. Rooks are widespread across Europe and parts of Asia, and are known for their adaptability to a range of habitats including farmland, woodlands, and urban areas.
