Rothschild's Grosbeak (Cyanoloxia rothschildii) is a medium-sized bird native to the montane forests of the Andes in South America. This striking species is known for its deep blue plumage with contrasting black and white markings. The male sports vibrant blue feathers on its head, back, and wings, while the female is more subdued with a grayish-blue coloration. These grosbeaks are often found foraging for seeds and insects in the dense undergrowth of cloud forests and oak woodlands. Despite their stunning appearance, Rothschild's Grosbeaks are relatively elusive and not commonly observed by birdwatchers.
