Ruddy-capped Nightingale-Thrush, Catharus frantzii, is a thrush in the family Turdidae that breeds from southern Mexico through Panama. It was described by Cabanis in 1861. The species is placed in Passeriformes and has a broad Middle American range. It is a montane bird of evergreen forest and pine-oak woodland, and it also uses secondary growth, thickets and altered habitats such as clearings. Its breeding range is split across several countries, with different subspecies occupying separate parts of the overall distribution.
