Ruddy Cuckoo-Dove, Macropygia emiliana, is a bird of the Columbidae family that breeds in the Oriental Region from Krakatau, west of Java, through Java, Bali and Lombok to Flores in the western and central Lesser Sundas. It was described by Bonaparte in 1854. This cuckoo-dove has a long, slender tail without a pale tip, and the central tail feathers are plain ruddy rather than barred. The head is evenly ruddy, the breast is purplish brown with black bars, and the neck shows a pink iridescence. Juveniles are like females, but with stronger barring.
