Grallaria rufula

The Rufous Antpitta is a small, terrestrial bird found in the Andes of South America. It has a distinctive rufous plumage with a white throat and belly. This species is known for its shy and secretive behavior, often foraging on the forest floor for insects and invertebrates. It is typically found in montane cloud forests and dense undergrowth, where it uses its strong legs and sharp bill to navigate through the thick vegetation. The Rufous Antpitta's unique call can often be heard echoing through the misty Andean forests.
