Rufous-backed Antvireo

The Rufous-backed Antvireo is a small passerine bird found in the tropical forests of South America. It is characterized by its rufous back and wings, contrasting with a gray head and underparts. This species is known for its distinctive vocalizations, often heard before it is seen. Rufous-backed Antvireos forage for insects and small invertebrates in the understory and lower levels of the forest canopy. They are typically found in dense, humid forests and are known to form mixed-species foraging flocks with other insectivorous birds. The conservation status of the Rufous-backed Antvireo is currently listed as Least Concern by the IUCN.
