Rufous-backed Sibia

Actinodura strigula

The Rufous-backed Sibia, or Actinodura strigula, is a small passerine bird found in the eastern Himalayas and Southeast Asia. It is characterized by its rufous back, black head, and white underparts. This species is known for its melodious and varied calls, often heard in the dense forests where it resides. Rufous-backed Sibias are typically found in montane forests and bamboo thickets, foraging for insects and small fruits in the mid to upper canopy. They are often seen in small flocks, displaying agile and acrobatic movements as they search for food. The conservation status of the Rufous-backed Sibia is currently listed as Least Concern by the IUCN.
