Rufous-backed Thrush, Turdus rufopalliatus, is a thrush of Mexico in the family Turdidae, breeding in Middle America. It was described by Lafresnaye in 1840 and is also called the rufous-backed robin. The species is tied to western and south-central Mexico, with the nominate form in the west, another race in the centre and south, and a third on the Tres Marías Islands. It also turns up as a casual visitor in the south-western United States. Its plumage is marked by a pale grey head and a chestnut-toned back, with the sexes alike but females duller.
