Rufous-bellied Bulbul

Hypsipetes mysticalis

The Rufous-bellied Bulbul, scientifically known as Hypsipetes mysticalis, is a medium-sized songbird found in the forests and woodlands of Southeast Asia. This species is characterized by its distinctive rufous belly and olive-brown upperparts, with a contrasting dark head and white throat. Rufous-bellied Bulbuls are known for their melodious and varied songs, which they use to communicate within their social groups. They are primarily frugivorous, feeding on a variety of fruits and berries, but also consume insects and small invertebrates. These bulbuls are typically found in dense vegetation and canopies, where they forage and breed. Despite facing habitat loss and fragmentation, the Rufous-bellied Bulbul is currently classified as Least Concern by the IUCN.
