The Rufous-bellied Niltava is a small, colorful bird found in the forests of Southeast Asia. It is known for its striking plumage, with the male sporting a glossy blue-black head, bright rufous belly, and contrasting white throat. The female is more subdued with a greyish head and olive-brown upperparts. These birds are often seen perched in the mid-story of dense forests, where they hunt for insects and small fruits. They are known for their melodious, flute-like calls during the breeding season. The Rufous-bellied Niltava is a delightful sight for birdwatchers and an important part of the forest ecosystem.
