Rufous-breasted Bush Robin

Brachypteryx hyperythra

The Rufous-breasted Bush Robin, scientifically known as Brachypteryx hyperythra, is a small passerine bird found in the montane forests of Southeast Asia. This species is known for its striking rufous-colored breast and belly, contrasting with its dark blue upperparts. The male has a distinctive white patch on the wings, while the female has a more subdued plumage. Rufous-breasted Bush Robins are known for their melodious and varied songs, often heard during the breeding season. They forage for insects and small invertebrates on the forest floor and lower vegetation. Despite their vibrant appearance, they are often elusive and difficult to spot due to their shy nature and preference for dense undergrowth.
