Rufous-breasted Bush Robin

Tarsiger hyperythrus

The Rufous-breasted Bush Robin, scientifically known as Tarsiger hyperythrus, is a small passerine bird found in the mountainous regions of central and eastern Asia. This species is characterized by its striking rufous-colored breast and belly, contrasting with a slate-blue upper body. It is known for its melodious and varied song, often heard during the breeding season. The Rufous-breasted Bush Robin forages for insects and small invertebrates in dense undergrowth and forest edges. It is a shy and elusive bird, often seen hopping on the ground or perching in low vegetation. While not currently considered globally threatened, its population may be declining due to habitat loss and degradation.
