Rufous-breasted Bush Robin

Tarsiger rufilatus

The Rufous-breasted Bush Robin, scientifically known as Tarsiger rufilatus, is a small passerine bird found in the high-altitude forests and shrublands of the Himalayas. This species is characterized by its striking rufous-colored breast and belly, contrasting with its slate-blue upperparts. It has a melodious and flute-like song that is often heard during the breeding season. Rufous-breasted Bush Robins forage for insects and small invertebrates on the forest floor, using their agile and quick movements to capture prey. They are known for their elusive behavior, often staying hidden in dense undergrowth. Despite their secretive nature, they are a delight for birdwatchers lucky enough to spot them in their natural habitat.
