Rufous-breasted Leaftosser, Sclerurus scansor, is a passerine of the Furnariidae family that breeds in eastern Brazil and south-eastern South America. It is a bird of lowland tropical rainforest, montane evergreen forest, and mature secondary forest, with a separate population in humid forest enclaves within the Caatinga. The nominate form ranges from central Brazil south to Rio Grande do Sul and into eastern Paraguay and north-eastern Argentina, while cearensis occurs in north-eastern Brazil between Ceará and Bahia. The sexes are alike, and the species is one of the larger members of Sclerurus.
