Rufous-breasted Wren, Pheugopedius rutilus, is a wren of Middle and South America, breeding from Costa Rica through Colombia to Venezuela. It belongs to the family Troglodytidae and was first described by Vieillot in 1819. Its range also includes Panama and Trinidad and Tobago. The species is closely associated with rainforest and cloudforest, especially where there are thickets, regrowth and forest edges rather than deep interior woodland. It is notable for its distinctive facial pattern and rufous breast, which set it apart within its genus.
