Pterorhinus ruficeps
The Rufous-capped Laughingthrush is a medium-sized bird native to the eastern Himalayas and Southeast Asia. It is known for its distinctive rufous-colored crown and black mask. This social bird is often found in small groups, foraging on the forest floor for insects, seeds, and berries. Its melodious calls and lively nature make it a delight to observe in its natural habitat. The Rufous-capped Laughingthrush is typically found in dense undergrowth of montane and submontane broadleaf forests, as well as bamboo thickets.
