Rufous-capped Spinetail, Synallaxis ruficapilla, is a bird of the Furnariidae found in south-eastern Brazil, eastern Paraguay and north-eastern Argentina. It lives in the undergrowth and along the edges of forest, including both lowland and montane evergreen woodland, and it is closely linked with Chusquea bamboo. It stays in the same area all year. The species is monotypic, and adults of both sexes share the same plumage. Its breeding season falls in the austral spring and summer, and it builds a bulky stick nest with a downward-angled entrance tube.
