Myiothlypis rivularis
The Rufous-capped Warbler (Myiothlypis rivularis) is a small, insectivorous bird found in the highland forests of Central and South America. It is characterized by its olive-green upperparts, bright rufous crown, and yellow underparts. This species is known for its distinctive song, often heard in the dense undergrowth of its habitat. Rufous-capped Warblers forage for insects and spiders in the lower levels of the forest, using their sharp bills to glean prey from leaves and branches. They are often found in mixed-species flocks, and their presence can be detected by their high-pitched calls. Despite their relatively wide distribution, the Rufous-capped Warbler faces threats from habitat loss and fragmentation.
