Rufous-cheeked Laughingthrush, Garrulax castanotis, is a bird of the Oriental Region, breeding in Laos, Vietnam and China. It belongs to the laughingthrush family, Leiothrichidae, and was described by Ogilvie-Grant in 1899. It is associated with subtropical or tropical moist lowland forest and subtropical or tropical moist montane forest. It was once treated as the same species as the grey laughingthrush, G. maesi.
