Rufous-chested Flycatcher

Cyornis sumatrensis

The Rufous-chested Flycatcher (Cyornis sumatrensis) is a small passerine bird found in Southeast Asia. It is characterized by its rufous-chested and white-bellied plumage, with a distinctive blue-grey head and upperparts. This species is known for its melodious and varied song, often heard in the dense undergrowth of tropical and subtropical forests. Rufous-chested Flycatchers primarily feed on insects, which they catch by making short aerial sallies from perches. They are known for their agile and acrobatic flight patterns. Although not currently considered threatened, habitat loss due to deforestation poses a potential risk to their population.
