Rufous-collared Thrush, Turdus rufitorques, is a thrush of Middle America, breeding from southern Mexico to Honduras. It lives in montane evergreen forest, pine-oak woodland and secondary growth, and also turns up in clearings, villages and towns. Its range is split into separate pockets in Chiapas, southern Guatemala, south-central Honduras and western El Salvador. The bird is a year-round resident. It was first described by Hartlaub in 1844. Some authorities use the name Rufous-collared Robin. It is placed in the family Turdidae, the thrushes.
