Rufous Coucal, Centropus unirufus, is a cuckoo of the Luzon group in the Philippines. It lives in tropical moist lowland forest on Luzon and nearby islands, especially where there is dense undergrowth and tangled growth. It is one of four coucals found only in the Philippines. Its range is limited to the Oriental Region. The bird is associated with thick vines and bamboo, and it is the only coucal in the country known to gather in large groups of up to 20 individuals.
