Rufous-crowned Tody-Flycatcher

Pseudotriccus pelzelni

The Rufous-crowned Tody-Flycatcher is a small, insectivorous bird found in the tropical forests of South America. It is characterized by its olive-green upperparts, rufous crown, and yellowish underparts. This species is known for its distinctive call and agile foraging behavior, often seen perching on branches and sallying out to catch flying insects. The Rufous-crowned Tody-Flycatcher plays an important role in controlling insect populations in its habitat. It is generally found in the canopy and understory of humid forests, where it builds its nest in a concealed location. While not currently considered threatened, habitat loss and deforestation pose potential risks to its population.
