Rufous-faced Crake, Rufirallus xenopterus, is a rail in the family Rallidae that breeds in south-eastern Brazil and central Paraguay. It was first described in 1934 and is now placed in Rufirallus after earlier being assigned to Laterallus. The species is known from marshes, especially areas with moist to shallowly flooded tussocky or matted grass. It has a rufous face, hindneck and upper back, with a white throat and belly, buffy ochraceous foreneck and breast, and black-and-white barring on the upperwing coverts, secondaries, scapulars and flanks.
