The Rufous-gorgeted flycatcher is a small passerine bird found in the eastern Himalayas and Southeast Asia. It is known for its distinctive rufous throat and breast, contrasting with the greyish-brown upperparts. This species is often found in dense undergrowth and forest edges, where it perches to catch insects in mid-air. It has a melodious and repetitive call that is often heard during the breeding season. The Rufous-gorgeted flycatcher is a migratory bird, spending the winter in southern Asia. Its conservation status is currently categorized as Least Concern by the IUCN.
