Rufous-naped Lark

Campicoloides bifasciatus

The Rufous-naped Lark (Campicoloides bifasciatus) is a small, ground-dwelling bird found in open grasslands and savannas of sub-Saharan Africa. It is characterized by its rufous nape, streaked brown upperparts, and white underparts with fine streaking. This species is known for its melodious and far-carrying song, often delivered from a low perch or in display flight. Rufous-naped Larks forage on the ground for seeds and insects, using their sharp bills to probe the soil. They are often seen in small groups or pairs. While not currently considered threatened, habitat loss and degradation pose potential risks to their populations.
