Rufous-necked Foliage-gleaner, Syndactyla ruficollis, is a passerine of the ovenbird family that breeds in south-west Ecuador and north-west Peru. It lives on coastal hills and the western Andean slopes, in montane evergreen forest and tropical deciduous woodland. It is closely tied to bamboo, stream edges and shaded ravines. The species is a year-round resident. It was first described by Taczanowski in 1884 and was once placed in Automolus before being assigned to Syndactyla. It is monotypic, and the lineated foliage-gleaner is its sister species.
