It has a rich rufous plumage with intricate patterns, providing excellent camouflage amidst the leaf litter and dense vegetation. This species is primarily insectivorous, foraging on the forest floor for invertebrates. Due to habitat loss and fragmentation, the Rufous Scrub-bird faces conservation concerns.
