Rufous Shrike-thrush

Rufous Shrike-thrush, Colluricincla rufogaster, occurs in Australia and New Guinea, where it lives in moist lowland forest and moist montane forest in tropical and subtropical zones. It is a passerine in the family Pachycephalidae. The name rufous shrike-thrush is also used for one of its recognised forms. In testing linked to bird toxicity, one examined specimen showed small amounts of batrachotoxins, the same kind of compounds known from poison dart frogs in Central and South America.
