Laterallus spilonota

It is characterized by its olive-brown upperparts, rufous sides, and black-and-white barred underparts. This secretive bird is often heard rather than seen, as it is known for its loud, repetitive calls during the breeding season. Its conservation status is currently listed as Least Concern by the IUCN, although habitat loss and degradation pose potential threats to its populations.
