Synallaxis unirufa
The Rufous spinetail (Synallaxis unirufa) is a small, secretive bird found in the dense undergrowth of humid forests and woodlands in South America. It is characterized by its rufous plumage, long tail, and distinctive vocalizations. This species is known for its skulking behavior, often staying hidden within the vegetation. Rufous spinetails primarily forage for insects and small invertebrates on or near the ground, using their long, slender bills to probe for food. They are typically observed in pairs or small groups. While not currently considered globally threatened, the Rufous spinetail may face localized habitat loss and degradation.
