Rufous-tailed Thrush

Cinclocerthia ruficauda

The Rufous-tailed Thrush is a medium-sized bird found in the Caribbean region. It has a distinctive rufous tail and a brownish-gray plumage with a white belly. This species is known for its melodious song, often heard in forested areas and gardens. Rufous-tailed Thrushes forage for insects, fruits, and small invertebrates on the forest floor, using their sharp bill to probe for food. They are known for their shy and elusive nature, often seen hopping through the underbrush. Despite being relatively common, habitat loss and deforestation pose threats to their populations.
