Turdus vanikorensis
The Rufous-tailed Thrush, scientifically known as Turdus vanikorensis, is a medium-sized songbird found in the Pacific islands of Vanuatu and New Caledonia. This species is known for its distinctive rufous tail and olive-brown upperparts, with a pale underbelly. It inhabits a variety of forested habitats, including montane forests, lowland rainforests, and gardens. The Rufous-tailed Thrush is an omnivorous bird, feeding on fruits, insects, and small invertebrates. It is known for its melodious song, often heard during the breeding season.
