The Rufous-tailed Weaver (Ploceus reichardi) is a small passerine bird found in parts of Africa. This species is known for its striking plumage, with males displaying bright yellow and black colors on their heads, backs, and wings, while females have more subdued plumage. Rufous-tailed Weavers are highly social birds and are often found in large colonies, where they construct intricate, pendulous nests from grass and other plant materials. They are primarily insectivorous, foraging for insects and other small invertebrates in open grasslands and savannas. Despite facing threats from habitat loss and fragmentation, the Rufous-tailed Weaver is currently considered to be of Least Concern according to the IUCN Red List.
