Rufous-vented Laughingthrush, Pterorhinus gularis, is a bird of the Leiothrichidae family that breeds across the Oriental Region from Bhutan to central Laos. It is also found in Bangladesh, India, Myanmar and Vietnam. Its natural home is in moist forest, both in lowland areas and in montane country. The species was first described by McClelland in 1840. It was once included in Garrulax, but a 2018 molecular study led to its transfer to Pterorhinus.
