Cuculidae — Cuckoos
Running Coua, Coua cursor, is a cuckoo of south and south-west Madagascar, where it lives in dry forests and other arid habitats. It is a ground-dwelling bird of the family Cuculidae, and its range is confined to the island. Adults are grey-green above, with a blue and pink face edged in black, dark blue skin around the eye, a bright pink back bordered by black feathers, and a purplish breast. Young birds show the same pattern, but less strongly and without black on the face.
