Rusty-backed Antwren

Muscipipra vetula

The Rusty-backed Antwren (Muscipipra vetula) is a small passerine bird found in the tropical forests of South America. It is characterized by its distinctive rusty-brown back and black-and-white plumage. This species is known for its agile foraging behavior, often moving quickly through the lower levels of the forest in search of insects and small invertebrates. The Rusty-backed Antwren typically forms monogamous pairs and builds dome-shaped nests in the dense vegetation. Its melodious song can often be heard echoing through the forest understory. While not currently classified as threatened, the conservation status of the Rusty-backed Antwren may be of concern due to habitat loss and fragmentation.
