Rusty-backed Spinetail, Cranioleuca vulpina, is a bird of Amazonia and central and eastern Brazil in the ovenbird family Furnariidae. It was first described by Pelzeln in 1856. It is a year-round resident and lives in places close to water, including gallery forest, river-edge thickets, scrub on islands in rivers, várzea forest, and shrubby growth beside lakes and streams. The species is placed in Passeriformes. Its breeding range is in South America, and its nest is a grass, root and stick globe lined inside with bark shreds and lichens, often set low in a fork above water.
