Rusty-bellied Shortwing, Brachypteryx hyperythra, is a bird of the Muscicapidae family that breeds in the eastern Himalayas and north-east India. It also occurs in Yunnan and far northern Myanmar. Its habitats include moist lowland forest, moist montane forest and moist shrubland in tropical or subtropical areas. Habitat loss affects it. Once thought to be rarer, it was moved in 2007 from Vulnerable to Near Threatened after it proved more widespread than first believed.
