The Rusty-breasted Cuckoo, scientifically known as Hierococcyx nisicolor, is a medium-sized cuckoo found in Southeast Asia. It is known for its distinctive rusty-orange breast and barred underparts. This species is often found in dense forests, where it forages for insects and caterpillars. The Rusty-breasted Cuckoo is a brood parasite, laying its eggs in the nests of other bird species, particularly babblers and laughingthrushes. This cuckoo is known for its distinctive call, a series of melodious whistles. Although not much is known about its population trends, the species is believed to be of least concern according to the IUCN Red List.
