Rusty-breasted Nunlet, Nonnula rubecula, is a bird of Amazonia and south-eastern Brazil in South America, with its breeding range also extending into the wider southern part of the continent. It belongs to the Bucconidae family of puffbirds. The species is found in humid lowland forest, including terra firme and várzea, and also uses secondary growth and forest margins. It may occur at any height in the forest, though it is most often seen in the middle storey. A notable feature is its variable plumage, with different forms showing differences in the head, underparts and tail.
