Rusty-capped Kingfisher, Todiramphus pelewensis, breeds in Palau in the western Caroline Islands of Micronesia. It is a kingfisher in the family Alcedinidae, first described by Wiglesworth in 1891. The bird is also known as the Palau kingfisher and is confined to this island group. Its breeding range lies in subtropical or tropical moist lowland forest. Adults have white underparts and long black eye-stripes, while young birds are cinnamon below. It has a large bill that is flattened from side to side, and dark legs.
