Rusty-cheeked Scimitar Babbler, Erythrogenys erythrogenys, is a passerine babbler of the Himalayas, breeding from north-east Pakistan to Bhutan. It was described by Vigors in 1831 and belongs to the Timaliidae family. Its name reflects the rusty colouring on the sides of the face. The bird has a long, downcurved bill shaped like a scimitar. It was once treated as the same species as the red-eyed scimitar babbler, but is now recognised separately. Three subspecies are accepted across its Himalayan range.
