Laterallus levraudi (Sclater, PL & Salvin, 1869)
Rusty-flanked Crake, Laterallus levraudi, is a rail of Venezuela in South America, where it is confined to wet lowland areas north of the Orinoco River. It occurs mainly along the coast and also inland on the western side of the Andes. Its habitat includes swamps, marshes, lagoons, lakeshores and flooded pastures. The sexes are alike. It has dark olive-brown upperparts, red flanks, and red underparts, with a white throat and centre of the breast.
