Furnariidae — Ovenbirds

Rusty-headed Spinetail, Synallaxis fuscorufa, is a bird of the Furnariidae family found in northern Colombia, where it is confined to the Sierra Nevada de Santa Marta. It lives in bushy forest margins, thick undergrowth, overgrown clearings and second-growth scrub in subtropical and temperate mountain zones. The species is monotypic and is closely allied to the rufous spinetail and black-throated spinetail, which some authors have combined with it. Adults are mostly bright reddish rufous, with dark lores, a dull greyish olive back, olive flanks and a less vivid rufous tail.
